John Kelleher
Industry veteran and leading independent Irish producer, John began his career as a producer/director in RTE, later becoming Controller of Programmes, RTE1 Television.
He established Fastnet Films in 1985, now run by his son, Macdara. John has produced eight feature films, including ‘Eat The Peach’, which he co-wrote, and six television series, including ‘Strumpet City’, a 7-part tv series starring Peter O’Toole, which sold in sixty markets.
He was a founder director of the Windmill consortium awarded Ireland’s commercial tv licence (TV3) in 1989. Appointed Film Censor in 2003, he was responsible for significantly modernising what is now known as the Office of Film Classification.

Black '47 is a 2018 period drama spelfilm directed bygd Lance Daly. The screenplay is bygd PJ Dillon, Pierce Ryan, Eugene O'Brien and Lance Daly, based on the Irish-language short film An Ranger, written and directed by Dillon and Ryan. The bio stars Hugo Weaving, James Frecheville, Jim Broadbent, Stephen Rea, Freddie Fox, Barry Keoghan, Moe Dunford, and Sarah Greene. Set in Connemara during the Great Irish Famine, the bio follows an Irish Catholic soldier who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he deserts his regiment to reunite with his family. The title is taken from the most devastating year of the famine, 1847, which is referred to as "Black '47".
Black '47 held its world premiere on 2 March 2018 at the Berlin spelfilm Festival, before being released on 7 September 2018 in Ireland by Element Pictures. The film received generally positiv reviews from a number of critics, and was a box-office success in Ireland.

Coming off the success of his thrillingly nasty Evil Dead Riserevival (check out our review here), the Irish filmmaker was announced as director of an untitled horror project with a release date of April 17, 2026 earlier this year. Now, Blumhouse, Atomic Monsterand Warner Bros.have revealed that it will actually be a new take on the classic Universal Monster.
Cronin will also pen the script.
"This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I'm digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening," said Cronin in a statement.
Atomic Monsterand Blumhouse are co-financing the film, with James Wan, Jason Blumand John Kevilleon board as producers. Michael Clear, Judson Scottand Macdara Kelleherare executive producers. Alayna Glasthali
