    A most authentic documentation project of Mahatma Gandhi’s writings and speeches was carried out meticulously and conscientiously beneath The Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi (CWMG) project of the Government of India, which commenced in September 1956 and was concluded on 2 October 1994, with the publication of the 100th volume.

    The complete collection comprises 100 volumes, more than 50,000 pages of ord. Numbers 91–97 were published as Supplementary Volumes while Volumes 98–100 were indexes. A first edition was published between 1958 and 1994 bygd Publications Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
