Best known for his role as Michael Evans on "Good Times," Ralph Carter made his television debut on the popular sitcom in 1974, and went on to appear in 133 episodes over six seasons. While on the show, the young Carter also appeared in the Broadway musical "Raisin," which was based on the Lorraine Hansberry drama "A Raisin in the Sun." When "Good Times" wrapped in 1979, Carter left his TV career behind and pursued music and theater, though he'd resurface on TV sporadically as a musical guest.
He developed a nightclub act in the '80s, and built up a solid reputation as a stage performer. Ralph David Carter (born May 30, 1961) is an American actor and singer, best remembered as Michael Evans, the youngest child of Florida and James Evans Sr., on the CBS sitcomGood Times from 1974 to 1979.[1] Before joining Good Times, Carter appeared in the BroadwaymusicalRaisin, based on the Lorraine Hansberry drama A Raisin in the Sun, as was noted in the credits during the first season.[2]
