Dan joined Nucor Corporation in November 1982 as Plant Metallurgist and Manager of Quality Control for Nucor Steel in Plymouth, Utah and in January 1988, he became Melting and Casting Manager at the Utah division. In March 1991, Dan became General Manager of the Nucor-Yamato joint venture in Blytheville, Arkansas and became Vice President in January 1992. He became Executive Vice President in September 1999.
Prior to joining Nucor Corporation, Dan was with Republic Steel Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio as Research Metallurgist and Project Leader. Dan was with Republic Steel from March 1975 until he joined Nucor in November 1982.
